Meet Natan:

Natan Leijssen is a movement artist from Belgium. Beginning as a young martial arts student and circus enthusiast, and later becoming a dedicated yoga practitioner, he started traveling the world in 2016 to learn from a wide range of teachers, healers, and movement facilitators. Along the way he discovered a deep passion for the healing arts. Natan established a full-time practice in Byron Bay and Sydney before moving back to Europe in 2025 to lead the Zenthai Therapist Program. Natan continues to travel, teach, and share his work internationally.

What is Zenthai Shiatsu?

"On the surface we may see a creative form of bodywork integrating techniques and philosophy from Zen Shiatsu, Thai massage and osteopathy... however, at its core there is an invitation to freedom. Freedom not only of the structural and energetic bodies but also, if we are adventurous enough, also the mental and emotional. Experiencing true freedom is not about ‘taking on’ anything new but more-so about letting go of the traps and blockages within our body/mind that prevent us from experiencing our true nature – joyful and free.  It becomes the focused intention for both giver and receiver using tools such as touch, breath, movement, awareness and honest self inquiry that is not confined to a yoga mat or futon but each moment of our daily life" - Gwyn Williams

Beyond Technique: the true Essence of Zenthai

The most important thing is always establishing a genuine connection. Without connection, there is no healing. When we abandon our separateness, we rediscover our true selves. This is healing at its most simple and most powerful. Healing flows through the resonance of compassion and trust. Maya Angelou's words capture this essence beautifully:

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

This quote speaks to the heart of Zenthai Shiatsu. Beyond the techniques and methods, we learn to hold space in which the entirety of someone's being is acknowledged and held.

Flying Therapeutics

In this form of therapy we use gravity, body weight and harmonic pulsing to allow the body to realign and release. The body is lifted up from the ground and moved in various positions that help open the structural and energetic body in powerful ways. 

Flying therapeutics improves oxygen flow to the brain, circulation, posture, lymphatic drainage, hormonal responses. Clients do not receive the rush of blood to the head that many participants of other types of inversion therapy experience. This is because the client has their knees bent during the massage, and the practitioner's feet are pressed against the major artery in the lower body, the femoral artery. This slows the blood flow returning to the head, resulting in a sense of calm, and a temporary reduction in brain activity.

Pre-natal Zenthai

Pregnancy is one of the best times for a Zenthai treatment, benefiting both mother and baby. Here we use peaceful, flowing movements and stretches that will support mother and baby in welcoming growth and transformation. With its holistic approach pregnancy Zenthai aims to balance the nervous system, increase the lung capacity, support blood health and distribution of Ki (energy).

Incorporated into a routine, Zenthai can greatly improve the overall wellness during pregnancy and bring relief to a great array of symptoms related to changes of the musculoskeletal system. The ideal time to start a prenatal zenthai regiment is the second trimester through the end of the third trimester, when energy levels are starting to decrease and discomfort increases.
